Kuantan Port International Conference (K-ICe 2024)

In celebration of Kuantan Port’s 50th anniversary, the Kuantan Port International Conference 2024 (K-ICe 2024) marked a significant milestone in our ongoing journey of transformation. Hosted by Kuantan Port Authority in collaboration with Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd., this landmark event brought together over 200 local and international delegates, including industry leaders and key stakeholders, at the Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre.

Themed ‘Sustainable Port Development: Catalyst in Global Connectivity towards Future Growth’, the conference sparked insightful discussions on global partnerships, trade dynamics, industrial expansion, sustainability, and digitalisation. The event featured inspiring keynote addresses, dynamic panel discussions, and interactive industrial sessions, all aimed at charting a path towards a more connected and sustainable future.

We were honoured to have the Minister of Transport, YB Loke Siew Fook, officially launch the K-ICe 2024 proceedings and unveil the commemorative coffee table book. His presence, alongside the signing of two strategic memorandum of understanding, highlighted the significance of this event in Kuantan Port’s history.

The signing of these two strategic MoUs marks a new chapter in Kuantan Port’s journey, reinforcing its role as a vital global trade hub. The first MoU, a collaboration between Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd., Northport (Malaysia) Bhd, and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), was signed by the Chairman of Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Lee Chun Fai; CEO of Northport, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof; and CEO of MRL, Dato’ Sri Darwis Abdul Razak. This partnership aims to revolutionise the logistics landscape with a comprehensive land bridge plan.

The second MoU, between Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd., represented by Mr. Lee Chun Fai, and New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd. (NLSC), represented by its Director, Mr. Wang Kaile, establishes a robust regional cooperation framework under the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to all participants, speakers, and panellists who joined us to celebrate this incredible milestone. Together, we are not only reflecting on the past 50 years but also shaping the future of sustainable port development.

From our humble beginnings five decades ago, Kuantan Port has emerged as a key player in regional trade, driven by continuous innovation and a commitment to excellence. As we look to the future, Kuantan Port remains dedicated to driving economic growth and leading in global connectivity. The future is bright, and Kuantan Port is poised to continue its legacy of success for many years to come.
